After 1st round play-offs in the Laurel Wreath challenge, sisters Sharon Menz and Rachel Smith with do battle in the Quarter finals. Other interesting play offs will be against Jacki Baker and Karena Higgins, Rosie Legoe against Petrina Smith who has come off a win against Michelle Justin. The final play off is between Julie Wilks and Ann Wagner, if both girls are on their usual consistent game they might do several laps of the course before a winner is determined. The Ranger will not attempt to pick winners here; the odds have well and truly been evened out.
The results: Rachel Smith def Emily Davidson 5/4, Karena Higgins def Meagan Watson 2/1, Julie Wilks def Annie Haynes 5/4, Petrina Smith def Michelle Justin 2/1, Jacki Baker def Jill Redway (forfeit).
Good numbers enjoyed playing in a weather perfect day. Those not playing in the Laurel Wreath played a stableford. The winner on 37 points was Helen Seears, runner/up on a count back was Judy James from Kim Knight with 34 points and Anne Wagner with 32 points.
NTP 3rd was Vicki Snodgrass and Ann Wagner on the 12th.
Again Maureen spoilt us with her beautiful soup and special mention to our President Jill Redway who unfortunately had to forfeit her game due to an eye injury and is not allowed to play golf for a couple of weeks. We wish you an extra speedy recovery Jill and thank you for your lovely welcome as we came back into the clubhouse.
Next week the ladies will play in the Minijumbuk Stableford. Also for anybody interested in playing golf on Friday the 25th April there will be the Anzac Day Legacy Interclub Challenge at the Naracoorte Golf Club. A great day played with and against our friendly neighbours at Naracoorte.
See you on the green: The Green Ranger!
