Saturday saw perfect weather conditions to get the Men’s golfing season underway. 15 couples played a mixed Pinehurst whilst the remaining men played a stableford.
Best net score for the day belongs to “The Captains” Jacki and Kevin Baker with a fine 69 ½ and closely behind them was Warren Sanderson and Karena Higgins 70 1/8.
Stableford winner was Shane Rivett on a count back from Jack England.

Combined Long Drive, Leanne Graetz and Ben Lively, stableford progressive long drive was won by Don Thiele.
However the celebration of the day belonged to Rachel Smith who had a hole-in-one on the 16th. Rachel has been heard recently saying she is having trouble playing all par-3’s, even stating she wishes she could play like her big sister, Sharon Menz who hits the green every time. Maybe it was the last minute change of club selection or showing her partner and husband Graeme ‘Weaner’ Smith that her new golf clubs were a great investment, whatever it was Rachel hit a perfect 160 meter drive resulting in her first hole-in-one. Congratulations Rachel, it looks like you are going to continue your successes into 2014.
The day finished with a beautiful evening meal where the Country Club members cooked tea for our invited Cattle Club Sponsors, who are local farmers supporting the club by allowing cattle to grow out on their properties and be sold, which is a major fundraiser for the Country Club.
